Richard Lloyd Anderson, 75, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 surrounded by his family at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born, July 5, 1945 in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Maxine (Speer) Anderson.
Richard was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for R.H. Marlin for 25 years, and he was a lifelong member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Dolan.
A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Richard had a love for his horses and goats. He was a member of the American Dairy Goat Association, the Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Margaret Annette (Hawkins) Anderson, children, Sharon Aikman (Chuck) of Bloomington, Rick Meadows (Dawn) of Greenwood, Melanie Kelsey (Eric) of Dixon, KY; and Lelan Poppy III of Martinsville, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, three brothers, Dan Anderson, Larry Anderson (Kathe), and Victor Anderson (Susie), two sisters, Retha Robinson (the late Ernie Robinson), and Shelly Tabereaux (David).
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Scott Anderson.
