Richard Librado Lucero, 71, passed away April 6, 2020. A lifetime Puebloan he was born November 10, 1948 to Librado and Mary Lucero who precede him in death along with; brother and sister-in-law, Andres and Teresa Lucero; father-in-law, Salvador Gallegos; Godson, Michael Pentaude. Richard graduated from Central High School in 1966. He then was an SP4 in the U.S. Army; with the following awards and commendations: Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Commendation Medal. He graduated from Southern Colorado State College in 1976, and was a strong supporter of CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves Football.  Richard was a very active member of Our Lady of the Meadows Parish, where he was a lector, a hospitality minister, RCIA  leader, and Parish Council member. He served on the Board of Directors for the Joni Fair Sangre de Cristo Hospice. He also was on the National Hispanic Institute Southern Colorado Community Leadership Council. He had quite the green thumb, and loved his plants and trees. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. Most of all he loved his time spent with his family. Richard leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Doris (Gallegos) Lucero; daughters, Sara (Dennis) Moore, JoAnn (Jeff) Waldrop; son, Johnny Lucero.; grandchildren, Reed Moore, Jacob Waldrop, and Jemma Waldrop; siblings, Gilbert (Sarah) Lucero, Connie (John) Lucero-Tracy, Betty (Dave) Turner, Lucy (John) Trujillo, Ruth (Eppie) Martinez, Grace (Don) Reigh, Gary Lucero, and Beverly (Dominic) Lucero; mother-in-law, Hilda Gallegos; sister-in-law, Terri (Joe) Musso; brother-in-law, Salvy (Geri) Gallegos; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
