Richard Lee Groth, 75, Granger, Iowa, died May 29, 2021 at Taylor House Hospice, Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by family. Richard was born March 18, 1946 to Chris W. & Florence E. (Corderman) Groth.
He was a teacher and legislator. His final and longest endeavors were investing and remodeling homes with the help of his wife Patty. Richard also enjoyed fishing, he was an avid card player, collector of vintage video games and enjoyed frequenting the casino.
Rick was a liver transplant recipient that loved and lived life to its fullest. He shared his zest for life with his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed fishing trips, family reunions and card games.
Survivors include his sweetie Patty, his mother Florence Groth, daughter Kris (Mark) Smith and John (Ulrike) Maier, sisters Glenda (Leo) Barnes and Jean Rooney, brother Bill Groth, grandchildren Brandon Carroll, Emily (Emily) Fuson, Max Maier, Jan Maier and Franka Maier. Preceding him in death were his father Chris Groth, son Randy Groth, step son Bob Maier.
