TRIEMSTRA, Richard L. passed away Monday evening, June 2, 2014, at the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Richard was born on April 7, 1946, in Kalamazoo to the late Thomas and Henrietta Zuidema Triemstra.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 38 years with the Upjohn Company as a chemical operator. Richard enjoyed training dogs in obedience and agility with the Third Leg Club, fishing, and watching Detroit Tigers baseball and NASCAR. On December 20, 1966, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Jean, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Micki Steve Rossio of Parchment, Debbie Rob Hanson of Overland Park, KS; 2 grandchildren, Hayley and Iain; brothers and sister, Ron Linda Triemstra, Duane Charla Smith Triemstra, and Sharon Jim Modderman; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marva; and a step-brother David Triemstra.
