Richard L. Sullivan, 72, of 935 Meade Street, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at his home following short illness.
Dick and his wife, the former Judith C. Mincemoyer, celebrated their 32nd anniversary February 18, 2009.
Dick retired in 1992 from the City of Williamsport after 36 years and then worked at Weis Markets on River Avenue. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation Church and the Newberry Lions Club. He served in the Army during the Bay of Pigs Invasion, was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School, and a past member of the City’s pension board.
Dick enjoyed fishing, baseball and the Crosscutters team.
Born March 4, 1937 and raised in Newberry, he was the son of John P. and Lillian P. Jonas Sullivan.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, John R. (Tiffany) of Woodbridge, VA; daughters, Shawn M. (Fred) Lucas of Hamburg and Kathleen A. Sullivan of Williamsport; a stepson, Ronald W. (Megan) VonDreau II of Corinth, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Jayne E. VonDreau of Camp Hill; a brother, Gerald L. “Mickey” Sullivan of Stamford, Conn.; and grandchildren, Judith Legge, Blake Lucas and Ella and Lillian VonDreau.
Dick was predeceased by brothers John P. Sullivan III and Robert Sullivan.
