Richard L. “Rick” McDaniel age 68 of Ashland, passed away on Thursday February 25, 2021 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Born in Ashland on January 3, 1953 the son of William L. and Donna M. (Rowland) McDaniel he was a resident of Ashland County all of his life. Rick was employed as a heavy equipment operator with several local businesses and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was also a member of the Ashland High School Class of 1972. While in High School he was a member of the Cardinal Conference winning Arrows Football team. He also loved farming and tractors. He loved to tinker with mechanical things and was a very loving and giving person who always had a smile and a laugh for everyone especially his family who he loved.
Surviving is one son and two daughters, Michael McDaniel (Ranelle Johns) of Ashland; Heidi McDaniel (Greg Cox) of Ashland and Michelle McDaniel of Ashland. Rick is also survived by his mother, Donna McDaniel and one brother and sister; Doug (Jamie) McDaniel of Ashland, Cheryl (Glen) Troth of Paulding, Ohio. Grandchildren Kyra Paulin Fugett, Kierstin Cox, Olivia Cox and Oliver McDaniel also survive.
He is preceded in death by his father William and son Andrew McDaniel.
