Richard L. Kinder, 73, of Florence, IL died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born October 14, 1936 in New Canton, IL; the son of Charles L. and Beulah Huntley Kinder. He married Beverly J. Robinson on December 9, 1958 in Pittsfield, IL and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Sonya June Kriger (husband, Robert) of Joliet and Evonne Norell Vega (husband, Mario) of San Juan, TX; five grandchildren, Michelle Vega, Tara Vega, Pamela Vega, Jena Vega, and Kristin Kriger; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Kinder of Rushville. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patricia and Betty.
Mr. Kinder was employed as a guard for Joliet Prison for five years prior to joining GM&O Railroad and later Illinois Central Railroad. He was a rail yard switchman for 31 years prior to his retirement. He served with the US Army from 1955 to 1957.
