Richard L. Ehler, 71, Huntington, IN., died Tuesday February 15, 2011 at 8:41 a.m. at Huntington Parkview Hospital, Huntington, Indiana. Richard was born on September 1, 1939 in Huntington, Indiana to Charles and Lela Mossburg Ehler. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Ehler married Carolyn Dye on February 8, 1961 in Huntington. His wife survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Mr. Ehler was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School, class of 1959. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, Indiana where he served as a Liturgist and Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Third Order of Franciscans. Mr. Ehler was employed at International Harvester, Erie Lackawana Railroad.and at MAC Steele, Huntington, Indiana where he retired from after seventeen years.
Survivors include two daughters: Kimberly Hubartt, Colorado and Joni and her husband Duane Naab, Huntington, Indiana. Three sons: Scott and his wife Joni Ehler, Huntington., IN; Christopher Ehler (Kelly Hunt) Huntington, IN and Mark and his wife Alane Ehler, Huntington, Indiana.Thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers: Robert and his wife Carolyn Ehler, Huntington, IN and Edward and his wife Margie Ehler, Fort Wayne, IN. Three sisters: Martha Jennings, Huntington, IN., Margaret and her husband William Howel, Huntington, IN and Catherine Wade, South Bend, IN.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Paul Ehler, Harold Ehler, Charles Ehler and John Ehler. Three sisters: Elizabeth Tester, Marjorie Hubley and Dorothy Conkle.
