Richard L. Bretzinger, age 68, passed away August 16, 2015, at the Jasper County Hospital. Richard was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on August 30, 1946, the son of Clarence A. Bretzinger and Ruth Burns Bretzinger. He had lived in the Jasper – Newton County area all of his life.
Richard graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1964. He was employed from 1981 to 2003 at Talbert Manufacturing in electric assembly, previously working at Trail Tree Truck Stop in the tire department.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #2272 in Rensselaer; was a NASCAR fan and an avid reader of Louie Lamour.
On February 2, 1980, Richard married Billie Jo Staddon who passed away in 2003.
Surviving is his loving family, daughter Annie (Joshua) Boudreau of Bradley, Illinois, son Thomas Bretzinger of Rensselaer, grandson’s Nathan Boudreau and Thomas Bretzinger, brothers Jerry (Sue) Bretzinger of Rochester, Indiana, and Rev. James (Debbie) Bretzinger, of Fowler, Indiana, In-law’s John (Carolyn) Staddon, Robert (Theresa) Staddon, Susie (Steve) Pickett, and Carrie (Bubba) Hendricks; numerous nieces and nephews; step-mother Beulah Bretzinger of Rensselaer, one step-sister and two step-brothers. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Billie Jo, one brother, Clarence Bretzinger, Jr., and step-mother Annabelle R. Downs Bretzinger who passed away in 1979.
