Richard “Pete” Peterson passed away on September 30, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick, as he was referred to by his family, was born January 20, 1953 to Robert and Doris Peterson. After graduation from Caldwell High School in 1971, he remained in Caldwell where he worked various jobs including Kent Trucking, Pioneer Irrigation District and Lurre Construction. Rick managed to stay independent throughout his life while dealing with Asperger’s Syndrome.
Rick had a natural ability with mechanics, loved motorcycles, fishing, going to Firebird Raceway, and hanging out with friends. He was loyal and generous in many ways with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Peterson. He is survived by his sisters, Jill Ihrig, Becky (Jim) Spets and Joy (Mike) Shantz; father, Robert Peterson; godparents, Uncle Charlie and Aunt Joyce Hall; uncle and aunt, Wes and Judy Roberts; and many other relatives.
