Richard Kent, age 60, of Algona, passed away on December 1, 2019 at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. Richard Ward Kent, the son of Lewis Henry and Margaret Elsie (Ward) Kent, was born on December 29, 1958 in Algona, Iowa. Richard worked at KFC, Doctors Landscaping & Nursery, Ex-Op, Pet Kingdom, Perky Parrot and Hy-Vee. He enjoyed decorating, growing flowers and plants in his gardens, cooking, and attending flea markets. Richard enjoyed his daily rides with Don and their dogs. He also loved spending time with his extended family. Left to cherish Richard’s memory is his best friend, Don Whitmore of Algona; his siblings, Lewis (Emelia) Kent of the Dominican Republic, Margaret Curren of Algona (formerly of Maryland), Suzanne Ostwald of Swea City (formerly of Algona), and Robert (Jean) Kent of Algona; nine nieces and nephews; twenty-two great nieces and nephews and beloved dogs, Mollie, Maggie and Dottie. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother and his beloved dog, Mitzie.
