Those left to honor Richard’s memory include his two daughters: Mariea (Bennie) Bucklin of Baxter and Kathy (Calvin) Winn of Newton; five grandchildren: Jill Maher of Altoona, Iowa, Jeff Bucklin of Colfax, Michael (Terri) Gilbert of Newton, Jen (Cory) Robinson of Baxter, and Jessica (Keith) Bormann of Richfield, Minnesota; six great-grandchildren: Nick, Logan and Morgan Maher, Cade Robinson, and Carter and Dylan Bormann; his sister, Sylvia Trotter of Newton; his close friends, Lance and Sheila Gess of Henderson, Minnesota and Keith “Santa Claus” and Martha Mizell of Newton; “His Special Girls” at Hy-Vee, Amy, Lisa and Kathy.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Fredricka (Schoor) Kalma; wife, Elizabeth in 2004; brother, John Kalma; and sister, Ann Sanders.

Richard worked in the Tool & Die Department for many years at the Maytag Company. He retired on December 31. 1981.

Richard served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II. He loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, enjoyed going to Hy-Vee for coffee, being at Colfax Tractor Parts, working on Maytag multi motors, and fishing.
