Okeechobee – Richard Joseph Laskey died on February 27, 2021. He was born July 3, 1937, in Lowell, Massachusetts. A resident of Okeechobee since 1979, he was a member of His Church. He was the original owner/ operator of the Meat Shoppe. He loved poker and competed in the World Series of Poker. His passion was his work and his grandchildren. He enjoyed the ocean and being on the water.
Mr. Laskey was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; and daughters, Terri O’Connor and Karen Robertson.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Laskey (Robin) and Doug Laskey (Jennifer) all of Okeechobee; grandchildren, Ross, Rachel, Logan, Addison, Wilson, Cory, A.J., Denise, Andrew, Teresa, Leslie, and Harrison; and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, David Laskey (Judy) of Sanibel; and sister, Linda Stymest (Butch) of Massachusetts.
