Richard Joseph Gorzynski age 83 passed away on August 31st 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in 1938 he married his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth, at the age of 18. They were together for almost 70 years and have four children who adore them.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Hattie Gorzynski and a grandson, Daniel. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Elizabeth, and their children, Mary (Jon), Catherine (Mark), Richard, and Nancy (TJ), and their grandchildren, Rachel (Jeffery), Beth, Natalie, Mackenzie, Zakary and Anthony and his brother, Edward.
Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois he moved his family to Arizona in 1975. Richard was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture as a Meat Inspector and was also President of his local Union chapter for over 30 years before his retirement.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds and was ecstatic when his beloved Chicago White Sox won the World Series in 2005. He was an avid golfer and achieved the elusive Hole-in-One on December 24th, 1992. Richard played on many softball leagues back in the day and summers were spent swimming at either the lake or in the backyard pool.
He and Elizabeth travelled the country with the kids every summer to gain a greater appreciation of this wonderful nation we call home. Richard was very active as a parent in all school and church activities including Cub Scouts, Men’s Club and Ushering to name a few.
He will be sorely missed by all who know and love him.
