Mr. Richard John Samoly, age 90, met his heavenly Father Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his home in Sharpsburg, GA. He was born March 12, 1924 in Cleveland, OH to George Albert Samolej and Mary Rose Czapla Samolej.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Weckerling Samoly. Mr. Samoly served as a US Navy Seabee during World War II. His professional career consisted of working for Ford Motor Company and Russell Gasket Company before becoming his own small business owner. He lived retired life to its fullest with his wife, Betty in CA and AZ prior to her death in 1998.
Survivors include sons, Jim Samoly & wife Kay of Sharpsburg, GA, Tom Samoly & Kay of San Mateo, CA; grandchildren, Christopher Samoly & wife Sandra of Potts Camp, MS, Steven Samoly of Collierville, TN, Beth Gammill & husband Kenny of Savannah, TN, Courtney Samoly of San Mateo, CA; great-grandchildren, Amanda Barber & husband Garrett of Mill Valley, CA, CJ Samoly of Potts Camp, MS, Tyler Gammill and Bailey Gammill of Savannah, TN and Taylor Samoly of Collierville, TN.
He was also blessed with one great-great-grandchild, Cooper Barber of Mill Valley, CA.
