Richard James Bormann, 84 of West Bend died Sunday October 3,2010 at the West Bend Care Center. Richard Bormann, the son of Charles and Anna Hartman Bormann was born December 7, 1925 in St. Joseph, Iowa. His family moved to Whittemore where Richard was rasied and received his education. He attended country school in Whittemore and graduated from Presentation Academy in 1944. He spent two years serving his country in Japan during WWII. On July 11, 1951 he was united in marriage with Enid Montag at Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in West Bend. The couple farmed in the Whittemore and West Bend area during their married lives. Rich and Enid moved to town in West Bend in 1966, and Rich retired from farming in 1988. Survivors include his wife Enid, West Bend, sons Harry (Deb) Bormann of Cylinder, IA, and Brian (Cindy) Bormann of West Bend, IA, grandchildren, Jason Bormann, Sarah McCullough, Jennifer Swift, Adam, Braden and Emily Bormann, greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Halle and Kaleb McCullough and Ava and Lily Swift, brothers and sisters, Vern Bormann of Algona, IA, Maurine (Bob) Reding of Arizona, Gerald (Norma)Bormann of Whittemore, IA, Rev. Charles Bormann of Arizona, Maurice (Eileen) Bormann of West Bend, IA, Rosie (Jim) Schuster of Baudette Minnesota, and Sister Emilie Bormann of Rochester, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by an infant sister Anna. Richard was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Harry Anderegg American Legion Post of West Bend. He loved farming, his family and spending time drinking coffee with his friends at the Village Pharmacy.
