ANSONIA – Richard J. Welch, Jr., 53, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at his home. Born August 27, 1968 in Hartford; the son of Richard J. Welch, Sr., and his wife Paula (Barber) Welch of Colebrook and the late Patrica (Healey) Welch. Rich was a talented Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. He enjoyed walking, hiking and being outdoors especially Colebrook where he grew up. He loved socializing with friends and family and dining at Stowe’s in West Haven. He was highly skilled at computer technology and loved being online. He also loved traveling especially to beaches and Europe several times. His outgoing nature will be deeply missed. In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, James J. Welch of Torrington; nieces, Riley S. and Peyton A. Welch, both of Southington; step siblings, Shelley Barber and fiancé Steve Deak of Winsted and Lauren Barber of TN; step nieces and nephew, Isabella, Ruby and Lucas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael R. Welch.
