Richard J. Roy, 75 of Bristol, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday December 31, 2009.
Richard was born on May 24, 1934 in Frenchville, ME. He was the son of the late William “Willie” and Rosalie Thibault.
Mr. Roy was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired Stanley Works machinist. A devout husband since 1960 and loving father, he was a dedicated family man and a hard worker who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons.
He is survived by his five children and their spouses, Richard J. Roy Jr. and his wife Joann of Bristol, Sandra L. Dube and her husband Michael of Bristol, Michael J. Roy and his wife Krista of Norwalk, Ann Marie Meehan and her husband Kenneth of Bristol and Eric J. Roy and his friend Ben of Bristol; his four grandchildren, Christina Spann, Kayla Meehan, Craig Meehan and Matthew Roy; his brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Doris Roy of New Britain; his sisters Gladys Dufour of Bristol and Jackie and Russell Roy of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Pauline of 48 years; his granddaughter Loren Dube and several brothers and sisters.
