Richard J. Pezzano, 83, died on Tuesday September 30, 2014 at his home in Berkeley Twsp., NJ. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ then lived in Hazlet, Keansburg, and Colonia, NJ before moving to Bayville, NJ 8 years ago. He worked as a baker and plant manager for A&P in Newark, NJ. Richard proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1951-1955 as a Tin Can Sailor in the Korean War working as a cook. He is the current President of both the Blind Veterans of NJ (BVA) and the USS Hailey Association.

He was the past president of both the American Legion and VFW of Keansburg, NJ and a member of F & AM Caesarea #64 of Keyport, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Mary Pezzano; his first wife Ann Pezzano and his son Richard R. Pezzano. Surviving is his wife Barbara Wiemer Pezzano; his three sons Joseph Pezzano and his wife Kelly of Middletown, NJ, Eric Wiemer and his companion Geralyn Zamorski of Metuchen, NJ and David Wiemer and his wife Nelly of Plainsboro, NJ; his two daughters Gloria Bollinger and her husband Stacey of Silvis, IL and Valerie Muscolino and her husband James of Brick, NJ; one sister Maryann Gabelmann of Union, NJ; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
