Richard Joseph Koch, 72, of Delray Beach passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Hospice by the Sea following a long illness.
Richard was born in Pottsville, PA., the son of the late Violet Tomaino Koch and Lester I. Koch. Richard was born on September 1, 1939 and graduated from Pottsville High School, Pottsville, PA in 1957 where he played the cornet in the marching band. As a Boy Scout he achieved the rank of Life Scout. After high school, Richard attended Ursinus College, Collegeville, PA where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Chemistry. While in college he sang baritone in Handels Messiah for all four years.
Richard is survived by his companion Anita Buchholz of Delray Beach, FL, two daughters; Valerie Broderick and husband John of Hardyston, NJ, Wendy Lupinski-Beck and husband Mark of Bloomingburg, NY, four grandchildren Kristen Broderick, Lauren Broderick, Stanley “Stosh” Lupinski and Matthew Lupinski. He is also survived by one sister, Patricia Koch Klemm and husband Rev. Robert C. Klemm of Delray Beach, FL & Blairstown, NJ former wife, Gail Willever Koch of Hardyston, NJ as well as several nieces and nephews.
