Richard J. “Dick” Johnson, 77, of Ingalls, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 27, 1939 in Asphalt, KY to the late Elvis and Tracy (Gross) Johnson. Dick retired from the former Delco-Remy plant in Anderson in 1986 after 26 years’ service.
He was a member of the Fortville F & AM Lodge No. 207 and the UAW Local 662. Dick was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
He was known by some as Dad, Pa, Coach and even to some “Reverend” Johnson. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed. Dick is survived by wife Joy (Laws) Johnson, whom he married July 1, 1962; son: Jeff A. Johnson of Ingalls; daughter: Randa Braunagel of Shelbyville; granddaughters: Abby and Hannah Braunagel. He was preceded in death by brother Ronnie Johnson and sister Nola Davis.
