Richard Harry Rardin, 81, of Junkins Avenue, Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Rardin was a retired security guard at Fairmont East High School and was formerly employed at Adamston Flat Glass. He was born in Clarksburg on February 15, 1929 a son of the late Russell Ralph and Ora Amanda Wiseman Rardin. He was married to Iona Gillespie Rardin, who preceded him in death on May 31, 2004. Surviving are one step-son, Bobby Welch, Sandusky, OH; one sister, Virginia DeMick and her husband Robert, Clarksburg; two nieces, Rebecca Hollar and her husband Benny, Bridgeport, and Linda DeMick, Clarksburg; three great nephews, Robert Hollar, Bret Hollar and his wife Aron, and Brad Hollar and his wife Stacy; one great niece, Amanda Claypool Chote and her husband Michael; and 12 great great nieces and nephews. Mr. Rardin was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, and enjoyed squirrel hunting. He loved his dog Petie who was his loyal companion. He will be greatly missed by his family.
