Richard “Dick” L. Harrison, 76, of Galesburg, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at home. Dick was born October 7, 1936, in Galesburg, the son of Burrell and Nellie (Wilkins) Harrison.
He married Janice Ellison on December 27, 1958, in Galesburg.
She preceded him in death on September 28, 2000. Dick is survived by two sons, Tony (Kari) and Tom (Ronda) both of Galesburg; three daughters, Patty Harrison of Galesburg, Paula Harrison of Littleton, CO, and Amy (Mike)Lybarger of Galesburg; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Elizabeth St. George, Natalie Steck, Lena Robertson, and Katherine Berry all of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, and two brothers.
Dick worked as a supervisor for O.M.C. for 30 years. He then worked at Carl Sandburg College for 14 years. Dick was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He loved to dance and go on the riverboat.
