Richard “Hank” Sturm, 88, of Greenwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 4, 2017. He was born on February 16, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Harry and Alta Sturm. Hank was a 1947 graduate of Southport High School. On June 4, 1950, he married Roxann Truitt. He and his father built their first home.
Hank proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict where he attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was employed with Indiana Bell (now A.T.&T.) for 43 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Hank is survived by his wife of 67 years, Roxann; his sons, Steven (Nancy) and David ( Barbara) Sturm; grandchildren, Joshua (Julie) Sturm; Caroline (Tim) Kleyn; Emily Sturm; Daniel (Anna) Sturm; Jonathan Sturm; Melanie Sturm; Michael Sturm; Anastasia Sturm; Gregory (Shelby) Sturm; Laura (Joel) Stafford; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Sturm; sister, Mildred Constable; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Sturm. He is preceded in passing by daughter, Karen Sue Sturm; and brothers, Harvey, Howard, and Roland Sturm.
