Richard H. (“Dick”) Davis passed away peacefully on July 3, 2016, in Pullman, WA. Dick, born on August 7, 1920, to the late Robert R. and Lillian A. Davis, resided in Moscow, ID, for the past twenty years. Dick was born August 7, 1920 in Penticton, BC, Canada. The family moved to the Wenatchee, WA area where he started school. They moved to the Santa Clara Valley, California area, where he graduated from high school. He worked construction for a time and married Vivian Hernstedt. He previously lived in Priest River, ID and was a long-time resident of Los Gatos, CA. Dick served his country as a navigator on a B-17 bomber during World War II in the European Theater, being discharged in June of 1946. After returning home from the war to Los Gatos, CA, Dick worked in the home construction business until retiring to ID with his wife, Vivian, in 1988. Vivian passed away in 1998, and Dick married Zella (Nesmith) Clumpner of Bellingham, WA, in 2000. He professed to serve the Lord at the age of eight and remained faithful throughout his long life. Dick was a loved and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his first wife, Vivian, mother of his four children; his brother, Wayne Davis; and his sister, Mary Brady. He is survived by his wife, Zella, of Pullman, WA; by his children and their spouses: Suzanne M. Escola and husband Dwayne of Ridgefield, CT, Richard E. Davis and wife Elaine of Hotchkiss, CO, Robert R. Davis of Moscow, ID, and Lori A. Schaitberger and husband Kenneth of Auburn, CA; and by his sister, Opal Gene Butts of Priest River, ID. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey Escola, Steven Escola, Daniel Escola, Sean Escola, Aleta (Davis) Powers, James Davis, Robert Davis, Kristen Davis, Stephanie (Davis) Felix, Bradlee Davis, Alisa (Schaitberger) Schulz, and Holly Schaitberger; and by ten great-grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces. Also surviving are his step-children, Christy (Rob) Kirschman of Bellingham, WA, Robert (Christine) Clumpner of Sedro Woolley, WA and Wendy (Stan) Blair of New Mexico along with 5 step-grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.
