Richard W. Grooms, SR, age 78, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1939. Richard was a volunteer firefighter for Station 8 in Whitfield County for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Grooms; daughter, Donna Grooms; mother, Gladys Grooms; father, Otto Grooms; brothers, John Grooms and Joe Grooms. He is survived by his children and their spouses; Crystal LaBar of TN, Sharon and Carl Jackson Bradford of GA, Richard and Stacy Grooms Jr. of GA, Debbie King of AL, Tammy and Rick Beavers of GA; one brother and two sisters and their spouses, Barbara and Donald Jackson, SR of GA, Margaret and Ken Pilkington of TN, Tom and Sarah Grooms of GA; grandkids, Christopher and Kaila Slade, Jordan Jackson, Dylan and Shari Grooms, Yessenia Grooms, Justin Jackson, Brandy Bradford, Amanda and David Waits, Whitney Smith, Charlie Greeson, Anthony Beavers, Heather and Matthew Salvador, Brandon Bradford; great grandchildren; Nicholas Slade, Emily Slade, Peyton Hollifield, Emma Grooms, Arabelle Grooms, Wyatt Greeson, Madison Salvador, Mathew Salvador; and many nieces and nephews.
