MATTHEWS – Mr. Richard Secrest, 68, died Tuesday, January 13, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Secrest was born July 6, 1946 in Marion, Indiana and was the son of the late Phillip Lyle and Maria Elizabeth Detrick Secrest.
Beyond his devotion to his family and work, Pete was a movie and television connoisseur, a true Renaissance man, using old school ingenuity, he could fix just about anything. His work ethic was to be admired and respected. His true passion though was with all things electronic and because of this, he became a self taught technological guru. But, most of all, he was a father and grandfather that will always be loved.
Pete is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Shelley Secrest Allison and husband, Jon of Salisbury, NC, Danielle Secrest Grover and Dawn Secrest, both of Indian Trail, and Nicole Secrest Robertson of Ft. Drum, NY; and grandchildren, Ally Hass, Isabelle Grover, Shamar Robertson, Cole Hass, Wyatt Allison, Liam Allison, and Jalen Robertson.
