Williamsport, MD – Richard Garfield “Dick” Seal, 77, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his brother’s home.

 

He was born on November 1, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Roy Jacob and Iva Blanche Alger Seal.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Rhodes (Ardinger) Seal on July 18, 2008.

 

He attended Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.

 

He was of the Protestant Faith.

 

Dick was employed by Long’s Business Equipment in Hagerstown, MD for many years until retiring. After retirement Dick was quite the handyman, avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed walking and riding his bike on the C&O Canal.

 

Dick enjoyed animals especially his past dogs Pepe and Ebony. He was an avid bird watcher and had trained back yard birds to eat from his hands and sit on his shoulder.

 

In his early years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. He attended basic training at Fort Gordon, GA. He attained the rank of Sargent and received the Expert M-14 Rifle medal.

 

Dick gave regularly to many charities, especially St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

 

He is survived by his brother Gary L. Seal and his wife Judy of Hagerstown, MD; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

 

He was predeceased by a sister Reva B. “Bo” Billman, brother Alvin R. Seal, and a nephew Alvin R. Seal, Jr.
