Richard G. Mello, a lifelong resident of Plymouth died May 20th at Life Care Center of Plymouth, after a short illness. He was born on January 1, 1937, the son of the late Arthur and Rose (Rezendes) Mello. He attended the Plymouth schools and served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1957. He was the husband of the late Mary (Brigida) Mello. Dick is survived by his son Michael and his wife Loralee of Florida. He was also the father of the late Lisa Mello and stepdad of George and Richard Di Liddo. He was the grandfather of Caleb Mello (Leah), Deana Andrews (Mello), Elisa Mello, Victoria Mello, Michael Morin Jr. and Robert Mendes. He was the great grandfather to Gabriel and Scarlett Mello. Dick also leaves behind his sister Kathy Perroni and her husband Michael of Plymouth. His brother David passed in 2016. Dick and his fiancé Sandra Lessard shared many wonderful years together. Dick was employed at Richards Micro-Tool and was an experienced carpenter. He enjoyed his Harley-Davidson Fat boy and was passionate to ride for causes like breast cancer research, raising money for Veterans and supporting numerous charitable causes. Dick was kind to many and enjoyed making people feel special. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He faithfully attended St Mary’s in North Plymouth, and as those who have hope he believed that one day we will be united with Christ, and those we loved that have passed.
