Richard G. Fort, 68, Anderson, died April 16, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born February 3, 1943 in Anderson and lived here for most of his life. Richard graduated from Knightstown High School in 1961.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, attending the Michigan NASCAR race for 40 years. He enjoyed working outside on his yard and helping his neighbors. He was the manager of Ornamental Iron Division at Mofab, Anderson for over 25 years. He previously worked as a salesman at Continental Bakery.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Vaughn Fort of Anderson, children, Richard S. Fort, partner, Talema Allen of Anderson, Gina Mike McVey of Anderson and Nicole Chris Miskel of Sydney, Australia; two brothers, Charles Edward Sharon Fort of Knightstown and Kenneth Jayne Fort of Roswell, GA; five grandchildren, Justin Fort, Jennifer Fort and Michael McVey of Anderson, Sage Miskel & Mace Miskel of Australia; four great grandchildren, Chayse, Maddox, Greyson and Chloe; several nieces and nephews; racing buddy, Richard Burnette and special pet, Baby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Fort and Dorothy Puckett Fort Carey.
