Richard Franklin Harris, 72, of Lumberport, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 following an extended illness. He was born June 18, 1939 in Shinnston the son of the late Richard Isaac Harris and Jessie Alberta Morgan Harris. He is survived by his wife Betty Stire Harris whom he married November 10, 2005. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter; Tamela Wiles of Hepzibah; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; two sisters; Sarah Wagner and husband Roy of Leesburg, VA and Linda Brown of Slidell, La; two brothers; Jerry Harris and wife Nora of Clarksburg and Earl Harris of Coldwater, MI. He was preceded in death by one sister; Sandra Blare and two brothers; Ronald Harris and William “Bill” Harris. Mr. Harris was a retired Coal Miner and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. At the family’s request there will be no public viewing.
