Born in Texas, he was raised in southern California. Richard graduated from Montebello Senior High School in 1962 and was later enrolled at Boise State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2007.
His fondest memories of his youth included being a scout, attending musicals with his mother, piloting his Cessna, winning several marksmanship competitions, and hiking and fishing with friends. In 1978, Richard moved to Idaho where he spent the rest of his life.
On June 1, 2002, Richard and I (Kathy Patterson) were married in the house that Richard built in Meridian, Idaho. We were later blessed to be sealed in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple for eternity on June 3, 2003. We loved each other with all of our hearts, always doing things for each other to make the other happy.
Richard was passionate about many things, and whatever he did, he did wholeheartedly.
Richard’s greatest loves were his family, his scouts, and the outdoors. Idaho’s backcountry was heaven to him.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy; four children, Christine (Martin) Taylor, Daniel (Tanya) Roscheck, Michael (Brittany) Roscheck, and David (Constance) Roscheck; four stepchildren, Everett (Tanya) Emerson, Amanda (Joseph) Souza, Ashley (Jason) Bishop, and Eric (Mariah) Patterson; 11 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Fumagalli.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Herman Roscheck and Margaret Meyer Fix.
