Richard Edward Hamlin, Jr. was born on July 7, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia to his parents, Richard E. Hamlin, Sr. and Tommie Gentry Hamlin. He was one of seven children born in the family. He received his early education in Blythe, California where he graduated from Palo Verde High School. He furthered his education by attending San Diego State University. In 1985, Richard united in holy matrimony to the former Margaret Ann Dockery. Margaret fondly remembers Richard teaching her “what real love is.” To this union, one son, Rashard was born. He was also the proud father of Richard, Tommy, Paul, and Gerald. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. Richard and Margaret traveled throughout the United States but settled in Colorado because of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. By profession, Richard was a skilled handyman. He loved working with home improvements. He also was employed by Coor’s Brewery as a Material Handler. He was someone who worked well with others and was hard working and dedicated. He performed all his duties with a spirit of excellence.
