Richard E. Runyan, 76, Anderson, died January 22, 2009 at St. Johns Health System, after a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1932 in Anderson, and was a lifelong resident.
Richard attended Pendleton High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Sprague Regulator and 7-UP Bottling Company, where he ran a route and did machine repairs.
Survivors include his children, Evelyn Fosnot of Ingalls, Betty Bricker & husband, Steve of Shreveport, LA, Bruce Runyan & wife, Joyce of Piedmont, OK, Danny Runyan and wife, Dee of Edmond, OK, Thomas Hoover & wife, Merri of Elwood and Jane McMillian of Anderson; sister, Betty Shirley of Florida; brother, Bruce Runyan of Kokomo; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Langley Runyan; parents, John R. & Gertrude Long Runyan; sister, Dorothy Himes; brother, Robert Runyan; daughter, Carlena Castle; and a granddaughter, Stacy Runyan.
