Richard E. Roy, age 74, of Country Club Road, Grafton, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born in Grafton, March 6, 1939, a son of the late James Roy and Dorothy Claire (Setler) Roy Kiger. Mr. Roy was a graduate of Grafton High School, and was a US Army veteran. He was retired from WV Plastics (Baby World) where he was employed for more than 35 years. He was a charter member of the Blueville Church of the Nazerene for 47 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and making things with his hands.
Surviving are: his former wife, Margaret (Squires) Roy, of Grafton; one daughter, Elizabeth Roy, of Grafton, one son, Michael Roy and wife Linda, of Flemington; two brothers, Roger Roy and wife Shirley, of Grafton, and William “Butch” Kiger and wife Shirley, of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: two brothers, James “Sonny” Roy, and Donald Roy; and two sisters, Shirley Sturms, and Norma Hinebaugh.
