Richard E. “Dick” Witmer, Sr., 87, of Indianapolis passed away on April 5, 2018. Born on November 28, 1930 in Chariton, Iowa, to Raymond and Twila Corum, Dick was adopted at age nine by the late Horace and Esther Witmer of Tipton, IA. A 1949 graduate of Tipton High School, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. On July 10, 1953, Dick married Patricia Cheney of Miami, Florida. After attending Florida Bible College, Dick entered pastoral ministry in 1968.

Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia; children Richard E. (and wife Jo) Witmer, Jr. of Indianapolis, and Cindi (and husband Len) Woods of Ruston, LA; grandchildren Cristi (and husband Zach) DeHoff of Indianapolis, Richard E. Witmer III at Beale Air Force Base, CA, Walter Woods, and Jack Woods, both of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren Maura, Tristin, Aiden, and Jeremy; brother Ray Corum, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
