Mr. Richard E. Dent died Thursday January 28, 2016 at G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery V.A. Medical Center in Jackson,Ms, he was 88 years old.
Mr. Dent was o veteran of the U S Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Constellation. He began his career with the Mississippi Game and Fish Commission in 1969 and was promoted to District Supervisor that included Warren, Issaquena, Sharkey , Washington, and Claiborne Counties. He was recognized Outstanding Warden Southeastern U S by receiving the Ted Slone Memorial award in 1972. Upon retiring
“Mr. Dent” operated Dents Fish Camp on Lake Albemarle until closing in 2005. Richard was an avid outdoorsman.
Mr. Dent is survived by a son John Dent of Vally Park,Ms, a daughter Donna Dent of Austin,Tx, a brother Johnny M. Dent of Columbia,Sc, 3 Grandchildren and 6 Great- Grandchildren.
