Richard L. “Dick” Sellars, age 78, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington on Friday, April 9, 2021.
He was born on September 8, 1942 in Bloomington to Robert “Bob” and Wanda (Brown) Sellars. Dick graduated Bloomington High School in 1960, before serving in the United States Marine Corps. He obtained his Private, Commercial, Instrument, and Flight Instructor Pilot Licenses on GI Bill. Later, he obtained his Airline Transport Pilot License through Britt Airways. Dick owned Sellar’s TV and Satellite for over 50 years. He was a pilot for Britt Airways, Indiana MRI, Griner Engineering, and Great West Casualty Insurance. Dick was a member of American Legion Post #18 for over 50 years.
Dick is survived by his son, Todd Allen Sellars, grandchildren, Lila Jane, Bridgette Sellars, and Cole Sellars, great-grandchildren, Trennen and Layne Sellars, sister, Donna Burris (Steve), and special friend Ruth Ann Crandall.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
