Richard “Dick” Peter Telck, 87, of Florence, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Richard was born on July 24, 1934, in Brewster, to Guido and Margaret (Pinamonti) Telck.
Richard attended Brewster School and The Holy Cross Abbey. He then continued working with the family farm, worked construction running heavy equipment, and later became a cattle rancher. He was often found on a tractor down on the farm or walking the ditch bank to irrigate. He took extreme pride in the lifestyle he lived and made sure those around him had a grand appreciation for it as well. Richard was a devout Catholic and attended St. Michael Catholic Parish in Canon City. He was a member of the Fremont County Cattlemen’s Association where he served for over 50 years, was President from 1990-1991, and received an honorary lifetime membership. He was also a member of the Columbian Lodge.
Richard enjoyed attending car shows with Rick & Debbie, where a smile would never leave his face behind the wheel of Rick’s classic cars. Richard shared the love of elk hunting in the Gunnison National Forest with his brother-in-law, father, and the Cristelli family. He then ignited that passion in other family members, including Paul Clausen, Michelle, and their daughters. A lot of fond memories were made on Dago Mountain in that beloved Chevy truck.
He is survived by his sisters; Margaret Napier and Joanne McCurley, and nieces he raised who were like daughters, Debbie (Rick) Higgins and Michelle Clausen. Nieces/Nephews Bill (Kelly) McCurley, Kimberly (Dale) Lucky, Pat (Emily) McCurley, Jimmy (Kathy) McCurley, Annette (Rodney) Biggs, John (Susan) Parker, Sheryl Parker, Jackie Bennett.
