Richard McCaffrey (“Dick”)
Of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. Dick was born on March 10, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA to Thomas J. and Lillian Stocker McCaffrey. Following his graduation from Georgetown University, Dick served in the Marine Corps and then moved to Alexandria, VA, where he began a career in real estate that spanned fifty plus years and continued until his death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of thirty-one years, Gayle McCaffrey, children Matthew McCaffrey, Kellie Meehan (Brian), Adam McCaffrey, Adam Linder (Terry Isner), and Sarah Linder, grandchildren Kayla LaVallee (Ryan), Morgan McCaffrey, Michael Meehan, Sean Meehan, Tayler Fichtelman (Tristan), Brigid McCaffrey, Olivia Isner, Savannah Isner, and Erica Isner, great grandchildren Craig and Lauren LaVallee, brothers Thomas and William McCaffrey, eight nieces and nephews, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Dick will also be missed by his good friends, his colleagues and his clients. We will all miss his strength and incredible integrity, his calm and reassuring way, his good counsel, his kindness and his twinkling Irish eyes.
