Richard “Dick” Levine Shorb, 70, of Westminster, died Friday, January 29, 2016, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Born June 9, 1945 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Charles Shorb and Arlene B. Groft. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia E. Miller Shorb.
Before retiring as a custodian at Westminster High School, he worked at Black & Decker for 23 years and was owner operator of R.L. Shorb Trucking. He also drove trucks for Robert W. Seal and PMI Trucking. He was a member of the Mayberry Gun Club, taught Hunter Safety Courses and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed dirt track racing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son Harold Miller and wife Shirley of Westminster, son Barry Shorb of Westminster, daughter Teresa Wilhelm and husband Larry Jr. of Westminster, son Mark Shorb and wife Donna of Westminster, sister Patricia Martin and husband Harlan of Westminster. He had 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, Katie, Laura and Donnie and 3 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother Larry Shorb.
