Richard Lee “Dick” Scott, 73 of Centralia passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Dick was born in October 22, 1939 in Centralia, son of Stanley J. Scott and Clara (Felchlia) Woodrome. He Married Nancy Sue Ballantini at Central City Methodist Church on December 5, 1959 and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is also survived by a son, Jeffrey Scott and wife Dina of O’Fallon; two grandchildren: Emma Scott and Michael Scott both of O’Fallon; a brother: Douglas Scott and wife Denise of Mustang, Oklahoma; a sister, Nancy Johnston and husband Robert of Amelia, Virginia; two half-brothers: Carl Woodrome and wife Brenda of Centralia and Albert Woodrome and wife Dana of Centralia; a half-sister: Joyce Fortney of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; three aunts, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-father, Carl Woodrome.
Dick was in bakery sales for 30-plus years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and until failing health, an avid fisherman. Dick always loved singing in high school, church and his barbershop group. He was a member of Demaree Methodist Church in Centralia.
