Richard “Dick” Brown, 80, formerly of Ulm, passed away October 18, 2016.
Richard Jerome Brown was born August 25, 1936 in Battle Lake, MN to Harry and Myrtle (Hagen) Brown. He was raised in Hingham and Havre, completing his education at Havre High School, graduating in 1954.
Dick married Betty Jane Helman in 1959, to their union a beloved daughter, Debra was born. The family settled in Ulm in 1960, remaining there for many years.
Dick was a revered business owner, operating Custom Cover Upholstery from 1967 until his retirement in 2009. His love of antique cars was evident with the quality of craftsmanship he was known for.
He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Ulm, Skunkwagon Car Club and the Great Falls Genealogy Club. Dick enjoyed collecting antiques and Coca-Cola memorabilia with his wife, camping and exploring Montana with their family.
He is survived by his step-mother, Harriett Brown, of Havre, MT; brother, Jim (Betty) Brown, of Renton, WA; sister, Sharon Armitage, of Valley City, ND; sister-in-law, Mary (Bobby) Collins, of Ulm, MT; numerous nieces and nephews; aunt, Erma Polich, of Helena, MT; uncles, Lester Anderson, Oris Anderson and Rick Stees.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Brown; father, Harry Brown; aunt and uncle, Tena and Arnold Michaelson; wife, Betty Jane Brown; and daughter, Debra Brown.
