Richard Dale “Dick” Wilson, 80, of Pueblo Colorado died peacefully surrounded by family on December 2, 2013. Richard was born to Ralph and Lucille Wilson on October 9, 1933 in Clay Center, Kansas. Dick attended school in Clay Center, graduating from Clay County Community High School in 1951. After graduation Dick enlisted in the Navy serving on the aircraft carrier, USS Sitkoh Bay and was honorably discharged in 1959. He married Iris Ione Carpenter on May 8, 1955. The family moved to Westcliffe, Colorado in 1971 where Dick worked as a butcher, and he and Iris owned and operated the Jones Theater. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Iris; children, Scott (Rita) Wilson of rural Westcliffe, Doug (Stacey) Wilson of Oro Valley, AZ, and Julie (Steve) Bathje of Gunnison, CO; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and sister Colene (Donald) Holmberg of Larned, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
