CORNER, RICHARD M.
Richard M. Corner, age 63, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday at home as a result of a tragic accident. Born in Romford, England, the Corner family first moved to Jamaica, and then came to this area in 1956.
The owner of Corner Well Jetting for over 35 years, Richard was a boating, water skiing, and golf enthusiast. He also indulged in automobile restoration and car racing. A giving person, he was active with Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, and the Edgewater Animal Shelter. On more than a few occasions, Richard provided wells and pumps to deserving organizations at no charge.
Survivors include his wife Carol, whom he lovingly called “Squeeze”; two sons, Bradford Corner and wife, Amy, of Port Orange, and Carter Garvin and wife, Kari, of Allen, Texas; a brother, Frank of Mission Viejo, California; and his granddaughter, Mackenzie Garvin of Allen, Texas, whom he called “George.” Nicknames also extended to his beloved Bichon dogs, Duke and Baron, whom he respectively dubbed “The Flash” and “Hollywood.”
The family suggests memorials to either the Edgewater Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 100 Edgewater, FL 32132, or to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
