Richard “Dick” Ervin Clark passed away April 23, 2022, in Clermont, FL. He was born November 10, 1926, in Detroit, MI the son of Ervin Clark and Vera (Coleman) Ross.
Dick served in the Merchant Marines during WWII; recently receiving his medals for his service on September 21, 2018.
On October 1, 1947, Dick was united in marriage to Nettie L. Lewis. They had five children. Nettie preceded him in death February 10, 2012.
Dick traveled extensively throughout the world and the United States. One of his most memorable trips was taking the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2016.
Dick had many jobs in his younger years, but he said taking a Dale Carnegie class at age 35 changed his life. He became a well-respected insurance agent and investment representative, retiring in 1998. He touched many people’s lives, always for the better.
Dick is survived by his brother, Robert (Mary) Clark; sister-in-law, Jeanette Clark; four children, Cherri (James) Rafferty, Jerry (Kathy) Clark, Larry Clark, and Rick (Dianne) Clark; 9 grandchildren, Gina Papineau, Mike Szekely, Stephanie Szekely, Jennifer Frowine, Ashley Billman, Ja’Nay Windmoeller, Erin Clark, Andrew Clark, and Jeremy Clark; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie; daughter, Terri Szekely; grandson, Sean Emery; parents; and brother, Clayton Clark.
