Dick was born on August 5, 1934 in Lewistown. He is the son of the late Richard C. Jones, Sr. and Miriam (Coleman) Jones. On February 16, 2012 he and Colleen Joy Harman would have celebrated a marriage of 55 years.
Richard was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School and Served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for Dean Phipps at various locations which brought him to Milton as the manager at the local store located on Front Street till their move to the South Gate Plaza. He then was employed as a welder /painter at Milton Steel Corporation until his retirement in August of 1996. At that point, he worked part-time at Christ Wesleyan Church and Meadowbrook Christian School until February 2010, where he did amazing woodwork and repairs, touching the lives of many of those with whom he came in contact.
Dick was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church of Milton since 1974 where he spent many years as head usher. He actively participated in building mission trips to South Dakota, New Orleans and Georgia, where he helped in the construction of schools, homes and church facilities. One of his greatest joys was the collection of trains that he had in his home and the woodworking skills he used to provide family members with furniture.
