Richard Brent Wilssens passed away on September 7, 2022. He was born on May 1, 1947, the son of Alphonse and Wanna Wilssens and brother of Danny and Nancy. He played city league baseball until about 16 and was on the bowling team in high school. He also loved to dance. His friends would stop by after school, and they would all dance in his basement for hours. They would perfect a line dance routine all week and then go to the YMCA to dance with matching shirts and pegged slacks. He was a dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and traveled to California, placing in a dance competition there.
Richard lived in Michigan, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Florida. He always worked hard but enjoyed the stock market, cooking, gardening, and entertaining. Many people came to him through the years for advice regarding stock investments. He cooked meals for the maintenance workers and neighbors and routinely made breakfast, lunch, and dinner for his wife, Ann. His last job before retiring was serving as a mortgage broker. He is survived by Ann and their dog Bailey, his son Brent and his wife Michelle, and their son Brent, his daughter Nanette and her husband Eddie, and their son Pierce, his daughter Stacie and her children Olivia, Isabella, Peyton, Finn, and River, and his sister Nancy and her husband Tom. Richard was a wonderful person who is now in Heaven but is missed immensely by friends and family.
