Richard Blake, 81, formerly of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Monday, January 11, after a valiant fight against lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria, and their children Sharon, and her husband, Densel Raines, granddaughter, Christy of Boca Raton, FL; Lynnae, and her husband, Glenn Ehley, granddaughter, Desirae of Merritt Island, FL; and David Blake and his wife, Rene’, grandsons, Seamus and Finnegan of Greensboro, NC; his brother, Larry Blake, and wife Vi of Vero Bch., FL. He was predeceased by sisters, Mabel Elmquist and Jean Houston; brother, Parkman Blake, and parents Lawrence and Doris Blake.
Dick was an Electrical Engineer for North Electric, Corp. in Galion, Ohio and Cape Canaveral, Florida. His career then led him to a position of Vice President at Siemens, Corp. After retirement, he became a consultant for several telecommunications corporations.
In his youth, he was proud to serve his country for four years in the United States Air Force. In recent years Dick was an avid boater, active in the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, Gulfstream Yacht Club, and the Navy League.
