Richard B. McDonald, a longtime resident of Stoughton and United States Coast Guard Veteran of the Korean War passed away after a brief illness in Brockton on December 5, 2014. He was 85 years old and the beloved husband of the late Shirley R. (Hubbard) McDonald. Survivors include his 4 children, Craig H. McDonald and his wife Linda of Brockton, James S. McDonald and his wife Kathleen of Rockland, Susan Carlson of Marlboro, Linda K. McDonald of Stoughton, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his brother Kenneth McDonald of California. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also a father to the late Jeffrey B. McDonald.
Born November 4, 1929 in Spokane, Washington Richard was a son to the late Robert and Marybelle (McCracken) McDonald. He was employed as a driver by several area trucking companies for many years.
